Phew! I need a break.

So...here is what/who those assorted pieces in the last post turned out to be...surveying the pieces of another project...he seems to approve!!

Fast forward a bit...and tah dah! Hello penguin!

What I spent most of my crafting time on today was blocking some ornaments...sorry the pics aren't that great, the lighting sucked and I was too lazy to move to a different room in search of something better! Perhaps when I unpin them I'll take some better pictures so you can also see them right side up.

There are also a few other projects not yet pictured and/or completed...so again, more to come!  But for now, I actually need a crochet break!

Do you have the pattern for the ornaments posted on here? And why are you blocking them? Is there a special technique you use? Thanks in advance- look forward to learning something new!! ;)

Hi Nicole! The ornaments are all from a Leisure Arts booklet called "Thread Tree Trim". I blocked them because they are bigger than they seem from the photos in the book, and I thought they'd hang better if they were stiffened. I normally use a sugar/water solution to stiffen them, but this time I used a fabric stiffener I bought at Walmart...pinned them out and let them dry, and they were ready to go! I think I could easily haven gotten away with just pinning them and giving them a spray of spray starch, they don't need to be rock hard, just a little firmer to hold their shape better :)
