Another bracelet

This is my latest bracelet....

I'm really liking working with wire!  I'm looking for different kinds of clasps for bracelets, the ones I've used so far are kind of tricky to do up yourself.  I checked out a cool store here in Sherwood Park called Crimpz Beads that has an awesome selection of beads...I tried to restrain myself and only ended up buying some wire and 2 different kinds of beads.

Before I really get going on making more jewelry I think I should finish my niece's dress.  She was over last weekend so I pinned together the pieces I have finished to see how much more I have left...she's big for her age so I wanted to make sure I was on the right track with the sizing.  If I buckle down to it, I can probably finish it in 1 sitting.  Go me!

Wire crochet

This morning I attempted my first beaded bracelet using wire crochet.  I used a 28 gauge beading wire, variety of colored glass beads and a size E/3.5 mm hook.

I didn't follow a pattern per se, but based the bracelet on a You Tube video about crocheting a necklace with wire.  Essentially, I chained 2, pulled up a bead and sc around it, then ch 1, sc around bead, and just repeat that with 15 beads in total, and ending with ch 2.  I made 3 lengths like that, then braided them together and put the clasp on.  It's definitely different working with wire, but I think the bracelet worked out ok!  Next I might try a matching necklace.
