Kids are so honest.
Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:46PM So. At my niece Nicki's birthday party a few days ago, I met a friend of hers and Sophie's, named Jesse. She's a classmate of Sophie's and is 7 years old. When we arrived at the house, the 3 of them were outside. Jared took in the gifts while I greeted the girls. The first thing out of Jesse's mouth was "you're the aunt who's baby died!!" Umm...yep, that's me, nice to meet ya! I didn't even know who she was at that point, and actually thought perhaps she was a cousin from the other side of the family. I said to Jared later it must just be karma, I know of a good foot-in-your-mouth-but-too-young-to-realize-it moment from my past...however I quickly realized Jesse didn't have anything to do with the karma...when I was maybe 5 or 6 I was at the local grocery store with my mom and reportedly remarked quite loudly how fat a fellow down the aisle was...who then glared at my mother...so that's where the karma comes in, commenting on how fat someone was, and winding up there myself! If only I had declared how slender someone was instead. LOL
